Petition goal: The release of Alex Belfield from Prison

Reason for petition: Alex Belfield was convicted of four stalking charges at Nottingham Crown Court last month.

He was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, September 16 jailed for five and a half years.

We are petitioning The Rt Hon Brandon Lewis CBE MP for his realise as we feel the judge in this case was bias and the custodial sentence was very harsh considering paedophiles get less time in prison.

According to the HM Sentencing Council website the maximum sentence for harassment or stalking is six months’ custody. https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/outlines/harassment-and-stalking/

If the offence is harassment (putting people in fear of violence) or stalking (involving fear of violence or serious alarm or distress):

the maximum sentence is 10 years’ custody.

We feel Alex Belfield has been wrongly imprisoned and we want to see him realised and retrial should be set with a different Judge.
